| Thousands have experienced the thrill and exhilaration of performance gains with Skat-Trak race-proven Magnum Pumps. World and National Champions know that maximum performance comes not only in the impeller design, but also in the whole pump and impeller combination. The Skat-Trak research and development team has designed, manufactured, and tested hundreds of handcrafted units to find the most efficient impeller and pump combinations for maximum performance gains. We are always testing new technology to make our Magnum Pumps stronger, quicker, and faster. | ||||||||||||||||
| Its our goal to make adding that much-needed extra performance as easy as possible. Although some of the Magnum Pumps require the use of stock parts to complete construction, many come complete, ready to bolt right into your personal watercraft. When you compare the craftsmanship of the Magnum Pumps to their stock O.E.M. counterparts, the difference is visually noticeable. Our Magnum Pumps are manufactured from high-quality 17-4 stainless steel and 6061 T-6 billet aluminum, unlike the stock pumps, which are made from weaker plastic and brass. The quality ingredients make Skat-Trak Magnum Pumps more reliable and durable. In many cases, the pump inside diameter and impeller hub diameter is changed to increase internal pump pressure for tremendous performance gains. This is a crucial part of the Magnum Pump design, which gives your personal watercraft the awesome acceleration and top-end speed gain you have been looking for. | ||||||||||||||||

New Frontier: Set-Back Pumps |

| Available in the 12-vane and 14-vane configurations only, the Skat-Trak Set-Back Pump moves or "Sets-Back" the stator section and impeller by reducing the length of the vanes. Not only does this open up the intake area before the impeller, allowing for more water to be stored in the inlet section, but it also puts the impeller closer to the venture nozzle creating less drag on the water flowing through the stator section. The stator vane and wear ring housings are not shifted. Only the stator vane section is internally moved back. | ||||||||||||||||
|
Although
our Set-Back Pumps and their Standard cousins are equal on acceleration,
hook-up, and mid-range speed, testing has shown that our Set-Back models
have an added advantage in top-end speed. This application is ideal
for Endurance or Off-Shore racing where it can be used to its full advantage.
Because the impeller and stator section are set back by 1", the
distance must be made up with an extended drive shaft. Not all watercraft
can use the Set-Back Magnum Pump because of the lack of extended drive
shafts. We do have them available for the following Magnum Pumps:

| There are many factors that ultimately determine which Vane configuration will work best for each particular watercraft. Some factors include watercraft size, weight, intake design, and horsepower. Using a process known as investment casting, we can avoid the heavy expense of custom tooling when prototyping different Vane configurations. This enables us to create and experiment with unlimited variations. During our extensive research and development testing, we have ridden virtually every watercraft available and tried hundreds of different configurations. Additionally, Skat-Trak is always developing new and innovative pump and impeller designs, so give our technicians a call when you are ready to load your watercraft with a Magnum Pump. | ||||||||||||||||
